Local author Jonathan Geltner is offering a craft seminar on seasonality in fiction. Reading material will come from the contemporary Norwegian author Jon Fosse, who has just received the Nobel Prize in literature, and one or two additional authors from the Christmas tradition. 

Open to all graduate and undergraduate students.

Jonathan Geltner grew up mainly in Cincinnati, Ohio. He studied English, Classics, and French at the University of Chicago, pursued graduate work at the University of Chicago, and earned an MFA in fiction from Warren Wilson College. He published a translation of Paul Claudel’s Five Great Odes with Angelico Press in 2020. Absolute Music is his first novel. His present work is a quest for re-enchantment through the study of a variety of authors and places. He lives in southeastern Michigan with his wife and two sons.
